Arrive Alive is a youth-driven awareness campaign built by a 9th grader from Coronado, CA who believes no text, no notification, and no scroll is ever worth a human life.
Distracted driving isn't just a statistic — it's a choice. And we're here to make sure every driver understands the weight of that choice before they even back out of the driveway.
Through education, community, and real stories, we're creating a generation of drivers who arrive — alive.
Meet the Founder
Arrive Alive was founded in 2025 by Vidanya Gehani, a student at Coronado High School. Growing up in Coronado, CA, Vidanya noticed far too many accidents on local roads caused by distracted driving — and decided she wasn't going to just watch it happen.
What started as a small student-led awareness initiative has grown exponentially. Arrive Alive has already partnered with Safe Harbor Coronado and has plans to collaborate with the California DMV — turning one student's passion into a movement with real impact.
Vidanya believes that every choice behind the wheel matters, and that young people have the power to change the culture around distracted driving — one conversation, one post, and one pledge at a time.
Stay Safe
Turn on "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode before you start the car. Both iPhone and Android have it — use it.
Put your phone in the backseat or glove box before driving. Out of reach, out of mind.
If it's truly urgent, pull into a safe spot, park, then respond. Never at a red light — that counts too.
If you're a passenger and the driver is on their phone, say something. You have the right to arrive alive.
Set up an auto-reply message so people know you're driving and will respond when you arrive safely.
Challenge your friends and family to commit to phone-free driving. Accountability changes behavior.
